We've all probably saw those videos with the guy freestyling in the Uber Car. They've been around for a while, but just until recently, I was not aware that Hi-Rez was behind the sick freestyle lyrics. Random freestyling in public has become a trend on Youtube. Its fun, spontanous, and really demostrates some of the skills these lyrical artists have. Check out some of these videos of our favorite Hi-Rez Freestyle Uber Videos.
Another week and a lot of hard decisions to be made on our New Release Favorites. Lyrically Rap's Fav5 is a weekly feature where we share our favorite 5 Lyrical Rap songs released from the last week. This week we feature some bangers from FNX, Jarren Benton, Versvs, Mark Battles & Nas. The songs are listed in no particular order below. We hope you like our picks, and please let us know in the comments what some of your favorite releases were.
Durand dropped his latest release, "Story Time" on Monday Aug 17th, 2020. Durand is a Lyrical Rapper from Fremont, Ohio. A midwestern neighbor of ours over here in Bloomington, Indiana. We covered Durand in an earlier story at Lyrical Rap, after finding him on Spotify. We love his sound, and were excited about his latest release, "Story Time".
FNX just dropped a new video today for his single "Bottom to da Top" today. I cant stress enough how dope this emcee is. He spits nothing but real, raw, meaningful lyrics. Trust me this dude gon blow up bigger than Europe during WW2. Keep an eye on this cat, for real. https://youtu.be/5mgbDwYRDpQ Make sure [...]
This week I was lucky enough to hear the new release from Versvs & Royce Da 5’9” “Enough for You”. The song is great. It’s a lyrical masterpiece. Of course, Royce’s name on any song is going to carry it’s own weight. Versvs holds his own though. There’s a reason why Crooked, Royce, Futuristic, Eazy Mac, Gawne, just to name a few, have worked with Versvs. He’s really, really good
"So many of our dreams at first seem impossible, then they seem improbable, and then, when we summon the will, they soon become inevitable."(Christopher Reeves) Rockwell's dream is becoming inevitable. This EP drop marks a momentous occasion for a very talented emerging lyrical artist, and I dare you to find another artist who works as [...]

2020 has been a year full of disappointment, hardships, and chaos. The tragic death of Kobe and his daughter, the George Floyd murder along with many other deaths of black men at the hands of the police, and then you add in a worldwide pandemic, have made this year quite a horrible one. I myself [...]
https://youtu.be/zQMEv9BZGpI Chris Webby just released his new #WebbyWednesday track just about a half hour ago. Holding my ground is a solid and uplifting addition to his lineup. His unique flow is a delightful change from some of his previous tracks. The way he can seamlessly change between styles is pretty is amazing. The production was [...]
Lyrical Rap is sometimes hard to find. There’s a lot of music out there, and a lot of ways to listen to it. What the streaming platforms and radios promote, may not always be quality hip hop. If you listen to a lot lyrical rap like us, your playlist and streaming radio stations start circling around the same songs. It’s the failure of the algorithm. There are times where the algorithm works though.
