Seuss got that sick flow. He’s got all kind of styles, but its his fast paced, head nodding delivery showcases his talents. Like I said, he’s got about everything in his toolbelt of rap flows. He can spit them club beats out, serve you with a catchy tune that’ll stick in your head, then flip the script and spit real issues with truths that punch. Check out the first few songs on his latest album “Mixed not Mastered” if you want to talk about that real shit.
Its high time we featured Buggie’s first EP on the site. “Buggin’ Out” has been out a couple weeks now, and after listening through it for probably the seventh time, I can still say its as fun and catchy as it was last week. Buggie gives an energetic journey that combines the sounds of hip hop and R&B. There’s kind of story there, or at least I’m about to create a story from the release.
Friday's "Release Radar" was throwing some fire this morning. I knew from all the social media chatter that some great music was dropping, but dang I was surprised. Enough so I thought it warranted a post on the website. We got 8 New Releases featured in this article from some of the best Lyrical Rappers in the game. Check out the videos below, and each artist name should include a link to either their spotify or youtube page. Here we go.
Welcome to week 3 of our "Rap Label Fantasy League", where Marshall and myself act like we're label managers, and use real life streaming and social data to simulate success or failures. Using the fantasy football model, we have drafted 2 teams of 7 hip hop artists. We've been tracking 4 stats: Spotify Monthly Listeners % Increase, Youtube Views % Increase, Instagram Followers % Increase, and Perceived Value Total Increase.
It's official. After all the doubt and hate, Team Hoosier takes a commanding 3-1 lead in the Lyrically Rap Label Manager Fantasy League. It did come a little later than expected though. Yeah, we may have 'planned' to record scores like two weeks ago. But things happen. Christmas, craziness, and stuff. We were lazy over our Christmas break.
Joyner Lucas released his latest album, “Evolution” today (10/23/20). “Evolution” is a master crafted set of songs lined up to tell a story of Joyner Lucas’ life. The message is powerful, tackling everything from Racial Inequality, the power of self, life goals, growing, and the truth beyond the exterior.
JL released his latest album today (9/25/2020), “The Devil Hates Sundays” and as I write this, I’m listening through it. There’s a lot of music on this album, 20 songs spread out over an hour’s worth of quality hip hop. Usually when I write these articles, I try to choose three songs that are my favorite. It’s almost too hard to do that this time. Like I said, a lot of bangers.
Mark Battles dropped his newest joint August 14th featuring Kevin Gates. Battles goes in hard on this one and displays his dope lyrical ability. There's not a lot to be "Thankful" for this year but, this jam is something to be appreciated! Check it out and make sure to follow Mark Battles on Spotify, or [...]
