Mac Lethal, born David McCleary Sheldon, is a hip hop artist, author, YouTube sensation, martial artist, and so much more that I’ve come to respect and admire over the years. He released his debut album all the way back in 2002 with Men Are from Mars, Pornstars Are from Earth. From then on he has gone on to much bigger and better things. He is probably best known for his famous YouTube video “Nerdy White Kid Kills Look At Me Now(Pancake Rap)”, but as the title states this man is way more than a pancake rapper. He has amassed over 40 million views on that video alone, so alright here it is:
Now that that is out of the way we can talk about Mac’s amazing career. He has released many full length albums along with a litany of mixtapes and EP’s over the years. 11:11 released on Rhymesayers Records in 2007 and I’m still listening to it on the regular.
If you haven’t checked out that album I highly suggest you do so. It is Lyrical Rap genius! Along with all of his success in music, one could argue that he’s had a bigger impact to the world through Youtube. To this date he has 2.88 million subscribers! And not to mention he has released an amazingly funny novel Texts From Bennett: A Novel documenting many of his text messages with his cousin Bennett. As the title states he is way more than just a pancake rapper!
